How One Word Can Change Your Life!

Your attitude towards yourself.

In the belief you only have one life, why not make the most of it.

Your happiness is more to do with how you think and see things rather than how much you own. Happiness is a state of mind not a state of ownership. All too often we vest our personal happiness in other people or the things we have or don’t have. It helps if you can increase your own feeling of self-worth and reduce the dependency on other people or things for your happiness. Your attitude towards yourself is so important that it is worth spending time and effort to improve it because when you do have a good view of yourself you project this out into your world and the world will treat you differently through the Law of Cause and Effect, (the law of attraction.)

A simple strategy to develop your feelings of self-worth is to draw up a list of all the positive attributes about yourself that you can think of, all the accomplishments in your life to-date no matter how small.

Keep adding to your list, the longer it gets the more it will help you realize your true worth and which will in turn improve your attitude.

Your attitude towards work.

It will help if you accept the principle that you are entirely responsible for the outcome of your lifetimes work. Most people do not give enough thought to selecting the kind of work they are going to do for the major part of their lives. Not enough emphasis in the education system is spent on finding a person’s unique ability. So it is up to you to determine what your innate talents are and work in an occupation that enables you to develop them.

If you are not yet in touch with your unique talent get help to find it. When you do work that plays to your talent you enjoy it more, work becomes a pleasure and you feel more fulfilled. You become more enthusiastic throughout your working day. Your whole attitude will improve and you will be a better person to work and live with. Clues to your talent express themselves more through your heart or feelings than through your thinking. Have you ever seen someone working at something and got that ooh -aah feeling about the work they are doing? That was your innate talent speaking to you. There are simple tests you can do to verify your personal strengths and abilities such as the Kolbe A index and Strength- finder both of which you can find on Google.com.

Your attitude towards others.

Treat everyone as if they are the most important person in the world, because to themselves they are. If you do this people will be more inclined to reciprocate and treat you better. Anyway isn’t this the way they should be treated?

Your attitude towards the world.

The world does not play favours, it is neutral. The way you see the world is determined by your attitude, like, is your glass half full or half empty. The good news is, whether you believe it or not, it is possible to change your attitude towards life and the world and it will then become a better place to live in. You can reprogramme your mind with simple techniques (like neuro-linguistic programming) that will give you a more positive outlook on life.

Developing self esteem depends on you. While it is nice to get an esteem boost from others once in a while, ultimately it is up to you to change your self talk and develop a positive attitude about yourself and your abilities. Self esteem is a need that we all feel in varying degrees. Some people always seem to feel that they are on top of the world while others always feel kinda blue. Developing self esteem seems simple enough to achieve but it is not that easy and requires dedication if one suffering from low self esteem is to succeed. Having a healthy self esteem goes a long way to helping us achieve our goals through positive thinking and positive action.

Self-esteem created through self-talk, and daily affirmation is ultimately hollow. For the real thing you have to fight, act in the face of doubt and uncertainty and create real change in yourself and the world. Self-esteem is most likely to be fostered when children are esteemed by the adults who are important to them. To esteem children means to treat them respectfully, ask their views and opinions, take their views and opinions seriously, and give them meaningful and realistic feedback. Self-esteem develops out of a relatively stable perception of ourselves. In part, our perceptions are formed by feedback we receive. It also helps the individual to face problems with a positive and firm approach and plays an important role in everyone’s life.

Developing and building self-esteem starts with feeling good about yourself: feeling confident, accepted, valued. Older children and adults rationalize criticism or praise from a positive inner strength and confidence in their own ability. Self-esteem is the backbone of all the positive attitudes, which are needed in a human being. It inculcates self-discipline in the individual. Self-esteem inculcates many positive qualities in the individual as it develops a positive approach towards many things it helps an individual to build up his or her self-confidence. This also helps them to face problems with a positive and firm approach.
